Reiki Training in Northamptonshire If your life has reached an impasse or you are feeling stressed and in need of an energy boost, consider experiencing a Reiki treatment or undertaking training in the original Usui tradition, taught by Christine Gould, International Reiki Master Teacher and Principal of Rei-ki Academy.
Reiki is an ideal solution to enhance your life force, accelerate the body's natural healing processes and help restore harmony between the mind, body and spirit. This versatile and comprehensive system of hands-on healing reduces stress, tension, relieves pain, promotes inner peace, relaxation and renewed enthusiasm for life.
What is Reiki? Reiki is the vital life force that permeates and nourishes all living forms - people, plants and animals. The word Reiki is Japanese and pronounced 'ray-key'. Each syllable has significance, 'rei' means 'universal' and 'ki' 'life energy'.
This ancient tradition of energy transmission through the hands, was rediscovered over a century ago by Dr Mikao Usui of Japan. He was a scholar of comparative religions on a quest to find out how the ancients healed. After many years, Dr Usui accessed the formula in Sanskrit sutras and spent three weeks in isolation, meditating at the top of a mountain. On his return journey home, Dr Usui applied the insights he gleaned and from personal confirmation of its effectiveness, named the system Reiki.
How does Reiki work? The best way to know if Reiki works is to experience this art of manual healing. Some people feel a deep sense of relaxation, warmth, tingling or chill, whereas others experience subtle sensations or, maybe, nothing at all. Effects may be felt physically or they may bring about a change of attitude, inspirational thoughts, creative insights, or solutions to challenging situations.
When Reiki flows through the body, the brain wave patterns change from Beta to Alpha cycles, which is similar to meditation or hypnosis. During this time bodily functions slow down which reduces the aging process yet doesn’t impair thoughts processes. It has also been scientifically demonstrated that oxygen in the haemoglobin increases by up to thirty percent while receiving Reiki.
Reiki amplifies the biological intelligence that promotes the body's resources to heal a cut finger, mend a broken bone, regulate bodily functions and assists the lungs to breathe. It helps restore balance between all four aspects of self; mental, spiritual, emotional and physical. Thus, Reiki is far more than a physical healing modality.
The human body is a metaphor for the psyche, constantly communicating with us through a range of messages in the form of emotions, feelings, pain or physical symptoms. Insights about messages from the body and ancient theories of illness are introduced during the training. These are in line with Traditional Chinese Medicine and based on the theory that every condition whether a 'dis-ease' or 'accident' has an underlying meaning. This information provides an invaluable tool for gaining a deeper understanding about yourself and your circumstances.
What are the benefits of Reiki? Regardless of whether you are fit and well or have health issues, Reiki provides a complete system of self-healing that can easily be incorporated into your daily life. Complementary therapists and practitioners of various disciplines, find Reiki as asset in both their personal and professional lives, especially when working with clients. The fact that children as young as 7 years old can undertake training, clearly demonstrates Reiki is not a complicated to learn.
Reiki is a valuable first aid tool which can be used at any time whether at home, work, or leisure, simply by engaging one or both hands upon yourself or others. When used in emergencies there is evidence of swift physical healing, manifested by burns that do not blister, cessation of bleeding, pain relief and bruises which fade overnight.
